NWFL: Edo Queens Land Ikenne, set for Super 6 battle

Defending champions of the 2023/24 season of the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL), premiership, Edo Queens FC, arrived Ikenne in Ogun State the Venue of this year’s edition of the glamorous Super 6, showpiece.

Edo Queens who ended the NWFL regular season on a flying note is prepared to commence the defense of the tittle on a sensational note on Saturday May, 10th 2025.

Recall that the highly rated team played five matches in the Super title campaign last season, and loss only one to Rivers Angels.

But at the end of the all- classic game, emerged winners and were crowned Queens and Champions of the Super six. They went on represent Nigeria at the continental scene, conquered in WAFU-B, in Cote D’Ivoire, but loss at the champions League proper to a more experienced side in Morocco.

To Edo Queens, every game in this Super six epic clash is a battle. There is no doubt that Edo Queens have become a big threat to other participating teams in the Super six having grown into a reliable team that has been tested and trusted.

 

The Super six would be another opportunity for the Ancient City based ladies to prove themselves again having done so well in the regular season.

Before leaving Benin City, for Ikenne, the team have promised to perform credibly well by repeating the 2024 Bayelsa scenario.

 

With the composure, preparedness and massive boost from the State government, the team would certainly want to create a really good vibe, and a positive result.

The other five contenders, are not new to Edo Queens they have met on several occasions in competitive football. For the defending champions, It is one game at a time.

 

It is also no longer news that all eyes are on the Benin Queens because of their exploits in the game. But not withstanding they are equal to the task.

Meanwhile, the camps of the six participating teams is already bubbling with action in Ikenne and businesses booming as well.

 

The draws will be held tomorrow, While the competition kicks off on Saturday May, 10th 2025, at the Remo International Sports Stadium
Ikenne Ogun State.
