Alfred Obeten, Gen. Manager of 7Up Bottling Company Limited in Abuja, has reaffirmed the company’s commitment to sports development through its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative.

Obeten made the remarks  at the ongoing

Minister of FCT Volleyball Challenge 2025 in Abuja.

According to Obeten, the company’s involvement in the tournament is aimed at promoting sports and youth development in the country.

“We have a long history of supporting sports, having previously established the Pepsi Academy and Pepsi Football Academy.

“We have always identified with sports, which is why we are part of volleyball tournaments,” he said.

He emphasised the importance of engaging young people in sports and other productive activities.

“I believe that when young people are engaged in sports and other activities that bring them profitability or entertainment, they are less likely to indulge in negative vices.

“The company is committed to supporting sports in Nigeria and will continue to bring its brands to the venues on a daily basis,” he said.

As a leading manufacturer of popular beverage brands such as Pepsi, 7Up, Mirinda and Teem, the company is dedicated to supporting sports development in Nigeria.

“The company’s involvement in the tournament is expected to boost the morale of the participating teams and contribute to the overall success of the event.

“By supporting sports development through its CSR initiative, 7Up Bottling Company Limited is demonstrating its commitment to giving back to the community and promoting the well-being of young people in Nigeria,” he said.

The support for the tournament is a testament to its commitment to CSR and sports development in Nigeria.

The Minister of FCT Volleyball Challenge 2025 is a major sporting event that aims to promote volleyball and provide a platform for young athletes to showcase their talents.

A total of 53 teams are participating in the Minister of FCT Volleyball Challenge 2025 at the outdoor court of Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Package B,from April 30 to May 4 in Abuja.
