Defending champions Zamalek of Egypt advanced to the final of the African Women’s Volleyball Inter-Club Championship after edging out Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) 3-2 in a thrilling semifinal encounter.
The match, held at the Indoor Hall, Package B of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja, ended with set scores of 25-23, 28-26, 19-25, 24-26, 15-12.
The semifinal clash lived up to expectations, delivering top-tier volleyball action. The Kenyan side enjoyed strong support from the crowd, who enthusiastically cheered every move, spike, and rally from the KPC ladies.
It was a contest defined by experience, grit, intelligence, and raw power—highlighting the steady growth and development of the sport across the continent.
Fans who spoke to the media praised both teams for their spirited performances, expressing optimism that Africa will be well-represented at the upcoming World Cup later this year.
Zamalek will now feature in their third consecutive final, having clinched the title in the previous two editions (2023 and 2024).
