Armee Patriotique Rwandans Volleyball Club (APR) dismissed VolleyballClub La LOI (VLL) of Democratic Republic of Congo in championship to set last eight following their 3-1 (25-18, 25-13, 22-25, 25-17) win over Congo DR La Loi.
APR took an early lead and dominated for the first set with some strong hitting for a 25-18 win. APR came back stronger in the second set. They showed good structured play and defence, winning the second set 25-13.
VLL launched a zealous comeback and dominant throughout the 3rd set, forcing APR to effect substitutions and time outs, APR closed the gap but VLL ran away with the set 25-22.
Knowing what is on stake, The Rwandans forced their way out to dismissed any possible comeback as they killed the 4th set 25-17 to secure a place in the last eight.
In other matches , Reigning champions Defending champions, Zamalek Sporting Club (ZMK) of Egypt,edged closer to defending the title after beating Club Ominisports Descartes( OMD) of Cote d’Ivoire 3-0 (25-8, 25-15, 25-15)
Litto Team Volleyball (LTV) of Cameroon beat Chief Naval of Staff (CNS) Spikers of Nigeria 3-1 (25-22, 25-18, 18-25, 25-17)
,Two-time champions CFC of Tunisia through to the quarterfinals after a 3-0 (25-11, 25-17, 25-20) win over Sococim of Senegal in their round of 16 .
Al Ahly Sporting club (AHL) of Egypt defeated Mayo Kani Evolution (MKE) of Cameroon in a 3-0 ( 25-17,25-19,25-15 ) victory.
Police Volleyball Club ( PVC) of Rwanda P vs Kenya Prisons Volleyball Club (PRI) of Kenya 2-3(23-25,25-19,20-25,25-2110-15 ).
Kenya Pipeline company Volleyball Club ( KPC) of Kenya Vs Spiking Stars Volleyball (SSV ) of Botswana 3-0( 25-15,25-12,25-6 ).
16 teams are participating in the championship holding between April 1 to April 14, 2025.
