According to Samuel Onikeku,
Secretary General of the Nigeria Customs Service Sports Department said preparations for the upcoming African Women’s Volleyball Club Championship in Abuja are in top gear.

The NCS has renovated the restrooms, installed new showers, and upgraded the water systems at the venue.

The halls have been equipped with state-of-the-art LED lighting, with 20 of 1000-watt lights in the first hall and about 30 of 500-watt lights in the second hall.

Onikeku also assured that arrangements have been made for comfortable accommodations for guests.

The NCS has also booked high-class hotels with reliable backup power systems to prevent any disruptions.

He said that an inspection team from the Confederation of African Volleyball (CAVB) had earlier visited the venue and given a pass mark of 85%.

Onikeku expressed confidence that the remaining work would be completed before the tournament begins. “We are aiming for 100% readiness.

“ The security is a top priority.
With the DSS, Nigeria Police, NSCDC, Custom Police, and Custom Intelligence all will be working together, you can expect a robust security presence.

“ The fact that the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, will be attending the opening ceremony adds an extra layer of importance to the security arrangements

“ We are expecting a lively and energetic atmosphere, and we encourage fans to arrive early to secure their seats,” he said .

He added that as it’s the holiday season, we are inviting everyone in Abuja to join us for an exciting display of female volleyball talent from across Africa.

“ With the indoor hall expected to reach full capacity, we advise fans to arrive promptly to avoid missing out on the action.
