…..NSC Leadership embarks on Nationwide Inspection of Venues as Zonal Elimination.
In preparation for the forthcoming 22nd National Sports Festival, the leadership of the National Sports Commission (NSC) has commenced a nationwide inspection of venues for the zonal elimination phase.
This exercise is aimed at ensuring that all facilities are in top condition to host the competitions.
The zonal elimination phase, which kicked off this week, will feature team sports such as football, volleyball, basketball, hockey, cricket, beach volleyball, Abula, and handball.
The events will take place across various centers, including Ibadan, Benin, Enugu, Kaduna, Plateau, and Yobe state.
As part of the inspection, the NSC Chairman, Mallam Shehu Dikko, and the Director General, Hon. Bukola Olopade, will be visiting some of the centers to assess the readiness of the facilities and ensure a hitch-free competition.
According to Mallam Shehu Dikko, “The zonal elimination phase is a critical component of the National Sports Festival, and we are committed to making it a success.
“ We want to ensure that all participating states have a conducive environment to compete and showcase their talents,” he said.
Hon. Bukola Olopade added, “We have provided all necessary logistics for a smooth qualification process.
“ Our team has worked tirelessly to ensure that all facilities meet the required standards, and we are confident that the competition will be of high quality,” he said.
The 22nd National Sports Festival, tagged “Gateway Games,” is scheduled to take place in Ogun State in May.
The festival promises to be an exciting event, featuring the best athletes from across the country competing in various sports disciplines.
With the zonal elimination phase underway, the stage is set for an thrilling competition that will showcase the best of Nigerian sports talent.”
