Newly appointed Super Eagles coach, Éric Sékou Chelle, has expressed his excitement and gratitude for the opportunity to lead one of Africa’s most renowned football teams.

Nigeria Football Federation ( NFF) on Monday unveiled the new Head Coach of the Super Eagles at the Media Conference Room of the Moshood  Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.

Chelle, a former Malian international who played for several clubs, including FC Martigues, Valenciennes, acknowledged the support of his agent, NFF, the National Sports Commission (NSC), and the Nigerian people.

He described coaching the Super Eagles as “an amazing job” and assured that he will work diligently to meet the expectations of Nigerians.

Chelle revealed that he favors an attacking style of play, emphasizing the importance of scoring goals.

His primary objective is to qualify the Super Eagles for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and he is committed to working tirelessly with his assistants to achieve this goal.

The newly appointed tactician, Jose Peseiro’s successor, Chelle, has penned a two-year deal, with a potential one-year extension if he successfully qualifies the Super Eagles for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Chelle will be joined by three assistants, and together, they will collaborate with the existing team to elevate the Super Eagles’ brand.
Notably, Chelle’s role with the Super Eagles B team, currently preparing for the 8th African Nations Championship, will be limited to supervision.
