Gateway United FC season opener in the ongoing Nigeria National league (NNL) 2024/2025 on Saturday ended in a goalless draw against Godswill Akpabio United FC in Group B ,at Gateway International Stadium, Ilaro, Ogun State.
The hosts created several scoring chances but failed to convert them, with goalkeeper Idris Titioso making crucial saves to keep a clean sheet.
Coach Festus Allen reflected on the game, saying, We created goal-scoring chances, but we failed to convert them.
“We will continue to work hard to correct our lapses,” he said.
He said that I am proud of the team display. They are young and highly amenable team but just a bit unlucky today.
Gateway United FC will look to build on their performance as they prepare for their next fixture away against Osun United FC on December 14, 2024.
