As Pelican Stars, Ibom Angels, and Osun Babes maintain strong runs in promotion bid.
Games at the UJ Esuene Stadium and St Patrick College Field showcased a series of high-stakes encounters as teams vie for promotion to the NWFL Premiership.
In Group A1:Pelican Stars emerged victorious in a dramatic 3-2 match against Castmog Ladies. The Calabar-based team built a solid 3-0 lead with goals from Perpetual Ndekani, Favour Bassey, and Nancy Njimogu.
Despite a late surge from Castmog Ladies, who scored twice through Itunuoluwa Odeyiola and Ngozi Nnaji, Pelican Stars held on for the win.
In another compelling fixture, First Mahi defeated Heroes Queens 4-1. Happinness Mkeh led the charge with two goals, complemented by strikes from Chidera Okechukwu and Ovie Ovoma. Naomi Thomas scored the consolation goal for Heroes Queens.
Group A2:Moje Queens delivered an impressive 6-0 victory over Kaduna Queens. Islamiyat Raji was the standout performer, scoring four goals in the second half, while Esther Bukola Adewale and Favour Linus Akpan also contributed to the scoreline.
Osun Babes cruised to a 5-0 win against Wazbak International, with Victory Odanlumen netting a hat-trick and Yetunde Fajobi and Kafayat Bashiru adding to the tally.
Group B1:Ibom Angels continued their unbeaten streak with a 3-1 win over Unification FC. The goals for Ibom Angels came from Ugobest Osuji, an own goal by Stephen Esther, and Ijeoma Onweagba. Rachael Adelodun scored for Unification FC.
Delta Babes secured a 3-2 victory over Chosen Generation. Delta Babes established a 2-0 lead in the first half with goals from Agboye Happiness and Ogwezi Faith (penalty). Despite Chosen Generation’s equalizing effort, Delta Babes clinched the win with a late goal from Chisom Samuel Mary.
Group B2:Honey Badgers faced a 1-0 defeat to Kwara Ladies, with Confidence Onen scoring the only goal of the match. Honey Badgers had already secured a promotion playoff ticket prior to this match
DreamStar Ladies will enter relegation playoffs following a 2-0 loss to Fortress Ladies. Fortress Ladies secured their win with late goals from Faith Ekeke and Favour Enodumwenben.
