President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), Musa Nimrod, has expressed satisfaction with the turnout at the Anti-Doping Information and Education Seminar held for participants in the NVBF 2025 Super Cup.
Nimrod said all participating teams, including referees, officials and board members, were represented at the seminar held on Thursday in Abuja.
He described the exercise as an advocacy programme aimed at preparing athletes for new regulations and preventing disputes during competitions, particularly during doping control procedures.
According to him, proper education would help athletes understand why officials may need to monitor them closely during matches.
The NVBF president also noted a growing interest in volleyball, especially among school children, adding that the Federation was focused on rebuilding the sport from the grassroots.
He recalled a time when volleyball attracted massive attention in Nigeria and expressed confidence that the sport could return to that level.
Nimrod revealed that Nigeria has been invited to participate in an upcoming Under-15 volleyball competition in Egypt, noting that the Federation is working towards developing strong Under-15 and Under-13 teams.
He said sustained education, discipline and talent development would position Nigeria to compete favourably at continental and global levels.
