Nasarawa United FC has announced that its upcoming Match-Day 20 clash with Kano Pillars FC will be played behind closed doors due to ongoing repair works at the Lafia City Stadium.
The match, scheduled for Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at 4pm, will only be open to officials and management members of both clubs, as well as accredited media personnel.
In a statement, Nasarawa United FC’s Director of Media, Eche Amos, apologized for the inconvenience and cited the need to ensure safety and security at the stadium due to the repair works.
“We understand how passionate our fans are, and we regret the disappointment this may cause,” Amos said. “However, we assure our supporters that the repair works will be completed before our next home match, and we look forward to welcoming them back to the stadium soon.”
The decision was taken due to circumstances necessitating repair works at some parts of the Lafia City Stadium, which could impede convenience of person and vehicular movements.
