A respected Swiss-based coach, Adedeji Adeyemi Anthony, has predicted that the Super Eagles will emerge victorious against host nation Morocco in the upcoming match.
Speaking on Crowther 88.5 FM OYO, Coach Anthony expressed confidence in the team’s unity and spirit, citing their impressive performance against Algeria.
“ The way our boys played against Algeria was impressive,” he said. “If they can repeat that against Morocco, Nigeria will win even in front of their supporters.”
The coach, who had previously supported Eric Seko Chelle’s appointment as Super Eagles coach, praised the team’s progress under Chelle’s leadership. “I am happy that my stance has been justified,” he said.
“Eric Seko Chelle is our Messiah, and the NFF should give him a long-term contract.”
Coach Anthony dismissed the idea that Morocco’s home advantage would be a deciding factor, saying, “If Nigeria plays like a team, Morocco will be beaten.
” He cited the Super Falcons’ comeback win against Morocco in last year’s WAFCON as evidence of the team’s potential.
“If the Super Falcons can do it, the Super Eagles can too,” he said. The coach urged the NFF not to sack Eric Seko Chelle even if the team loses in the semi-finals, saying it would be a mistake to do so.
The Super Eagles face Morocco in a highly anticipated match, and Coach Anthony wishes the team all the best.
