The annual thanksgiving service of Christ the Rock of Ages Evangelical Gospel Mission was described as highly successful, as Bishop Dr. Afolabi Emmanuel, founder and presiding bishop of the church, expressed deep gratitude to God for the steady growth and progress of the ministry.
Speaking during the service, Bishop Emmanuel highlighted the church’s achievements, noting that the congregation recently marked its third anniversary at its current location. He described the journey so far as a testimony of God’s faithfulness and divine establishment.
“We are just celebrating our third year in this location, and since we came here, the Lord has been great to us. Many churches around appreciate the way God is establishing us in this place. I give Him praise and adoration,” he said.
The bishop attributed the success of the church to total dependence on God, encouraging members to remain patient and trust in God’s timing rather than relying on human strength.
“God has beautiful things for everybody, but at a particular time. If your time has not come, don’t grumble and don’t be in a hurry. God’s time is the best,” he admonished.
Reflecting on the broader success and future of the nation, Bishop Emmanuel expressed optimism about Nigeria, assuring worshippers that despite present challenges, there is hope ahead.
“It may be bad today, but there will be light at the end of the tunnel. Nigeria belongs to God, and He will heal our land and restore it to His glory,” he said.
He also addressed Nigerian youths, urging them to remain hopeful and committed to building the nation rather than seeking opportunities elsewhere.
“The youth should see this country as their own. If they run away, who will stay and build the future? There is hope for the youth in this country,” he said.
The successful thanksgiving service was marked by prayers, praise, and renewed commitment, as members celebrated God’s faithfulness and looked forward to greater achievements ahead.
