El-Kanemi Warriors FC suffered a disappointing 3–0 defeat away to Nasarawa United in their Matchday 14 encounter at the packed Lafia City Stadium.
The opening half-hour saw an energetic contest, with both sides displaying tactical discipline and searching for an early breakthrough.
That moment eventually came in the 38th minute when the referee awarded Nasarawa United a penalty. Anas Yusuf confidently converted from the spot to give the hosts a 1–0 lead heading into halftime.
The second half started in the worst possible fashion for the Zulum Boys. Just one minute after the restart, Nasarawa United doubled their lead in the 46th minute.
Any hopes of a Warriors comeback were dashed four minutes later when the hosts struck again in the 50th minute, extending the advantage to 3–0.
Despite increased effort and better ball possession from the Zulum Boys afterward, Nasarawa United remained solid at the back, preventing any meaningful threat.
Five minutes of added time did little to change the scoreline, as the match ended 3–0 in favour of the home side.

A visibly disappointed Coach Kabiru Dogo expressed frustration with the outcome:
“Yes, I am disappointed with the result. This is not what we planned for, but we cannot change the will of Allah. In football, mistakes lead to goals.
“ We will now focus on our next away game against 3SC, where we hope to get something positive,
On behalf of the entire team, we sincerely apologize to our fans. We know how they feel because of the love they have for El-Kanemi Warriors.”
The team captain also assured supporters of a better showing in their next fixture:
“We are going to Ibadan, and In Sha Allah, we are going to get something. We did all we could to give a good account of ourselves, but Allah said no today. Thank you for your support.”
