A brand new basketball court was dedicated on thursday, 6th November 2025, at God’s Way Comprehensive School, Hwolse.
The court was constructed by Rebirth Basketball Academy in collaboration with City Ministries, for local residents, schools, and basketball lovers.
The court was officially opened with a thrilling four-team tournament. The event marked a significant milestone for the Hwolse community, showcasing its commitment to providing top-notch facilities for athletes and basketball enthusiasts.
Rebirth Basketball Academy, Joegeez Basketball Club, Suns Warloads, and Mighty Jets Basketball Club all competed in a round-robin format, with the top two teams advancing to the championship game
.
UJ Queens and Plateau Queens battled it out in the female category.
Joegeez emerged as the winner, defeating Suns Warloads 29-20 in a closely contested final match.
Solomon Bot, the owner of Rebirth Basketball Academy, praised the new facility and appreciated all those who came out to assist the project in reaching this level.
It was a good day for the chieftains of basketball in Plateau State. The chairman of the Plateau State Basketball Association, Dr. Chollom Paul Lomak, and its board members had earlier graced the opening of a basketball court at the University of Jos ahead of the NUGA games.
