The present administration of the duo of Mallam Shehu Dikko and Hon Bukola Olopade seem to be changing the narrative as the right sets of people are now occupying and showing interest in the various federations unlike what was obtainable in the past where the federations were left in the hands of mediocres.

Wushu  and Kung Fu Federation is not left out, as it has only been existing, hence not getting the required attention it needed especially media coverage.

However, in the past few months, Wushu & Kung Fu seems to have woken up courtesy of one man who took it upon himself, not only supporting the sport but promoting it among the youths.

The egghead behind the recent impact and revival of Wushu & Kung Fu is no other person but Hon. Sesan Adeboyejo, representing the North Central Zonal. He has done more than enough for the sport hence he wants to be in the driving seat to be able to take it to where it ought to be.

He outlined some of the things he has done in the past and what he intends bringing to the table when he emerges as the President, come Saturday 25, October, 2025. Below are some of his programs:

He has been supporting and promoting Renewed Hope for the youth by integrating sports with education and development. However, in a recent interaction with him, he said the Public Private Partnership , PPP will continue to be his major priorities as soon as he occupies the seat as the Federation President. He has been engaging the private sector and he is confident that they will support his programs when he comes into office.

Part of his programs is also to introduce Wushu and Kung Fu at community and school levels. He said he believes once that is achieved, many youths will be taken off the street especially those who are indulging in illicit activities like consuming hard drugs, alcohol, committing cyber crimes, robbery, etc,

Hon. Sesan Adeboyejo said, “If we catch them young, their parents and the country will benefit a lot from them in future because they will become the country’s ambassadors representing Nigeria at different levels at the continental and international levels; and also their future and the people around them would be secured.”

Adeboyejo disclosed that one of the areas Wushu and Kung Fu have been lacking is Training and Coaching. He said when he emerges, he is going to support and sponsor training of athletes, coaches and referees within Nigeria and outside the shores of the country with international exchange programs.

Of course, without infrastructure and facilities, no federation can exist and Wushu & Kung Fu is not also left out. The sport is lacking behind in this area hence Hon. Adeboyejo has promised to build modern training halls. Invest in dojos, mats and other equipment to make the job easier for the athletes and coaches.

Hon. Sesan also assures that regular local, regional and national competitions will be organized to test and sharpen the skills of Wushu & Kung Fu practitioners in the country.

Adeboyejo said Kung Fu is not just a physical sport but also cultural. He noted that it promotes philosophy, discipline and values behind the sport. His words, “We can help Nigerian youth embrace respect, perseverance and self-control, values that strengthen both individuals and society,” he noted.

Recalled that the Federation elections that are yet to be conducted will take place on Saturday, October 25, 2025 and Wushu & Kung Fu Federation will also elect its President, as Hon. Sesan Adeboyejo, who is a round peg in a round hole is expected to emerge and take over the saddle of leadership.
