All is set for the grand opening of the Osun Military Paramilitary Games 2025 (OMPG25), taking place at the Aderemi Sanni Stadium, Adeleke University, Ede. Governor Ademola Adeleke will officially declare the Games open through his representative, the Commissioner for Youth Affairs, Hon. Moshood Olagunju.

The confirmation was conveyed to the organisers through the Governor’s Principal Private Secretary, reaffirming the state government’s unwavering support for the championship and its goal of fostering unity, discipline, and camaraderie among Osun’s security agencies.

The Osun Military Paramilitary Games bring together officers and personnel from various formations including the Nigerian Army, Police, Civil Defence, Immigration, Correctional Service, Customs, and other paramilitary organisations.

The two-week sporting fiesta aims to deepen collaboration, enhance physical fitness, and strengthen the bonds of friendship across the state’s security architecture.

According to the organisers, Governor Adeleke’s decision to delegate Hon. Olagunju underscores his administration’s confidence in the Ministry of Youth Affairs to champion programmes that connect sports, leadership, and public service.

The Governor’s goodwill message, to be delivered during the opening ceremony, will highlight the values of teamwork, discipline, and healthy competition among the participating formations.

This year’s edition, themed “Strength, Unity, Service Through Sports,” is powered by Ace Sports in partnership with the Osun Sports Officers Association, and promises a vibrant blend of athletic excellence and ceremonial colour. The Games will feature a range of competitive events designed to showcase endurance, teamwork, and esprit de corps, values that define the participating security services.
