Lobi Stars U-19 Demolishes EMMYJEK FA 8-0 in a Club Friendly

Lobi Stars U-19 side thrashed visiting EmmyJek FA 8-0 in a friendly showdown at McCarthy Stadium in Makurdi, winning bragging rights in the process.

The home team’s youngsters dominated the thrilling match, scoring at will and showcasing their exceptional skills in front of their teeming supporters.

It was Moses Kuku, who opened the scoring in the 8th minute, assisted by Patrick Nyior’s brilliant pass inside the box while Sesugh Iortyer’s brilliance shortly after gave Lobi Stars U-19 side a 2-0 lead in the 16th minute. Kuku added two more goals in the 19th and 24th minutes, completing his quadruple with a beautiful header just before halftime.

At halftime, the score was 6-0 in favour of the home team. In the second half after resumption, Iortyer scored his second goal through a cool finish, sparking wide jubilation inside the stadium.

The visitors had an opportunity from the penalty spot enough to reduce the deficit, unfortunately, Peter Mbatsavnum wasted that glorious opportunity when he sent the ball over the crossbar, before Lobi Stars U19 midfielder, David Dzever sealed the win with the eighth goal of the day for his side to complete the demolition.

Head coach Stephen Waghbo praised his team’s discipline and maturity, saying, “I applaud my boys for what they have done. They deserved the win because of their discipline and maturity.” This convincing win showcases Lobi Stars U-19’s potential and bodes well for their future fixtures.
