All is set for the 2025 Uganda Tour as the London-Nigeria Cricket Club (LNCC) begins preparations for its much-anticipated cricket trip to Kampala.
The 2025 Kampala ‘Pearl of Africa Tour’ will see LNCC play four friendly matches between October 25 and November 2, 2025.
This development came to light when LNCC Secretary, Matthew Condotti, revealed that the planning began during the 2024 LNCC Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Surrey, UK.
According to him, the United States of America was initially chosen as the tour destination, but when arrangements did not materialize, the club quickly switched to “Plan B.”
“At the AGM, we decided to go on tour, and the original plan was to visit the USA,” Condotti explained.
“We made contact with our people in the U.S. and established communication channels.
However, given that cricket is still developing there and the logistics were not quite viable, we didn’t get enough commitment and responses to justify the trip. That’s why we resorted to Plan B, which we discussed during the AGM, to help us continue spreading the gospel of cricket.”
“When we reached out to the Uganda cricket organization, they responded promptly. Communication has been smooth, and we’ve already finalized our accommodation and match venues,” he added.
Condotti; a prolific batsman also revealed that LNCC has designed a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project aimed at promoting the growth of cricket within local communities in Uganda.
Condotti, who recently scored 39 runs off 35 balls for LNCC against Camel Cricket Club, confirmed that the players are fully prepared for the upcoming challenge, training both individually and collectively ahead of the fast-approaching 2025 Kampala “Pearl of Africa Tour.”
“We are really excited about this tour. Everyone is preparing, both individually and as a team,” he said.
“We’ve had a good season this year, and our captain will soon share a summary of our performances so far. We’ve recorded a fair number of wins and losses, and we want to round off the season with this Kampala Tour before our 2025 AGM.”
