The outdoor volleyball court at Package B of the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja was abuzz with excitement on Saturday, June 28, 2025, as a mini volleyball tournament brought together five male and four female teams from across the Federal Capital Territory.
The participating clubs included Apo Spikers Volleyball Club, All Stars Volleyball Club, De Friends Volleyball Club, Games Village Volleyball Club, and Kuje United Volleyball Club.
Amina Abdulmalik, a volleyball enthusiast, highlighted the significance of such programs in fostering bonds and promoting fitness among participants.
“ This event is all about bringing players together, especially uprising players, to showcase their love for the game and sportsmanship,” she said.
Abdulmalik emphasized the importance of sports in youth development and health, stating, “You can’t separate sports from the youth and health.
“ Everyone should engage in sports, whether for leisure, fitness, or passion,” she said.
The event, which brought together stakeholders from across the volleyball community and facilitated networking opportunities, took place on the 28th of June, 2025.
thisnaija. ng reports that with 37 teams participating in the larger FCT Minister Volleyball Competition, the event is part of a broader effort to develop volleyball in the Federal Capital Territory and identify talented players.
The competition aims to foster friendly relationships among players and enthusiasts while engaging youths and addressing security challenges through sports .
