The President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Ibrahim Gusau, has pledged the federation’s support for the Nigeria National League (NNL) awards .
Speaking at the combined 2025 NNL/PROSTAR/SPORTLIGHT HUB/Monthly Awards, Gusau emphasized the importance of recognizing excellence in football on Wednesday in Abuja.
The prestigious event, held to celebrate outstanding performances in Nigeria’s second-tier football league,recognize key individuals and teams who have excelled in various categories over the two-month period.
Gusau noted that award programs encourage others to strive for excellence, adding value to the league.
He assured the NNL of continued support to ensure the awards continue, gathering momentum and promoting Nigerian football.
Gusau thanked the sponsors, including Prostar and Sportlight Hub, for their contributions to Nigerian football, encouraging them to do more.
“We will support the NNL to ensure that at least this award continues,” Gusau said, highlighting the NFF’s commitment to promoting excellence in Nigerian football.

The PROSTAR/NNL Monthly Awards aimed at recognizing outstanding performances and contributions in the Nigeria National League, Nigeria’s second-tier football division.
The awards have become a rallying point for fostering excellence, encouraging grassroots development, and building stronger ties between government bodies and football stakeholders.
The event was attended by prominent figures in Nigerian football, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Grassroots Football Development ,Prince Adeyinka Adeboye, NNL Board Chairman Chief George Aluo, and CEO Emmanuel Attah.
