The Authentic Nigeria Football and Allied Supporters Club has honoured 15 retired police officers at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, Lagos, in a show of appreciation for their years of service.
The delegation was received by the Head of SCID Panti, Dayo Ralph Akinbisehin, who facilitated a meeting between the club’s leadership and the retired officers who recently exited active service.
The retirees honoured during the visit include CSP Charles Akinrosye, CSP Odion Julius, SP Julius Ohimai, DSP Audi Kigbu, DSP Uloko Obiabo, DSP Adetoye James, DSP Oderinde Gafar, DSP Nosa Uhumwagho,
Others are DSP Odedele Odesola, DSP Ekundayo Omage, DSP Cosmas Ezeofor, DSP Peter Nwangwu, DSP Oyedele Oyekunle, ASP Usman Sanni, and ASP Lawrence Ibisianmi.
Leading the delegation, the National President of the club, Abayomi Ogunjumi, commended the officers for their dedication to maintaining law and order, noting that a secure environment is essential for sports development.
He said the visit was aimed at expressing gratitude to the retirees for their contributions to national security, emphasizing that peace and stability remain critical to youth development and sporting activities across the country.
As part of the event, the club donated high-quality jerseys to the retired officers to encourage physical fitness, camaraderie, and continued community engagement in their post-service lives.
In his remarks, Akinbisehin praised the initiative, describing it as a morale booster for both serving and retired personnel. The retirees also expressed appreciation to the club for recognising their service and acknowledging the connection between discipline in sports and discipline in security operations.
The visit forms part of the club’s broader commitment to community development, youth empowerment through sports, and support for Nigeria’s security institutions.
