The men’s and women’s teams of NAF Rockets recorded emphatic victories on Friday in their penultimate matches at the ongoing 2025 Comptroller General of Customs Volleyball Premier League final phase in Abuja.
The match, played at the indoor sports hall of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.

The NAF Rockets men’s team secured a convincing 3-0 win against NSCDC, with sets ending 25-23, 25-17, and 25-18.
In the first set was tightly contested, with both sides trading points early on.
NAF Rockets pulled ahead 18–15, but NSCDC rallied to lead 19–18 before the Rockets regained momentum to close out the set 25–23.
The second set was one-sided as NAF Rockets surged ahead 14–6, overwhelming NSCDC with superior blocking and organised play to win 25–17.
NSCDC started the third set brightly, taking a 4–2 and later an 11–7 lead.
The NAF Rockets, however, mounted a strong comeback to level at 12–12 before pulling away decisively, 22-16 then 23-17.
NAF Rockets defensive presence at the net proved crucial as they sealed the match 25–18.
The match showcased NAF Rockets strength and skill, with their blocking a key factor in their victory.
The NAF Rockets women’s team had earlier claimed a comfortable 3–0 win over Anambra Queens (25–16,25–16,25–17), with team captain Tidah Gabriel earning MVP honors.
Speaking after the match, Tidah Gabriel, captain of NAF Rockets volleyball women team, said the team’s performance is improving in spite a challenging start to the season.
“ We have played nine matches, winning five and losing four, because we hardly had time to prepare.
“We trained for only three days before the competition, and our release came late due to work commitments,” she said.
She expressed optimism about the team’s future under new leadership.
“With the new director and improvements already in place, I believe everything will be okay now.
“ Also praised organisers doing well, especially since the Comptroller General of Customs, took over. The Premier League is thriving, and we appreciate the support and welfare initiatives introduced,” she said.
Others results in the men’s, Nigeria Customs Service (NCS ) beat UCEM with a convincing 3-0 win (25-15, 25-15, 25-18). CNS Spikers secured a 3-0 win against COAS Spikers (25-22, 25-16, 25-23).
Nigeria Police Service (NPF ) edged out Kada Kings 3-1 (25-21, 25-21, 21-25, 25-16), while Nigeria Correctional Service (NCOS) defeated Sunshine Spikers 3-1 (19-25, 25-17, 25-11, 25-19).
Kano pillars Spikers secured a 3-1 win against Offa Volleyball club ( 21-25, 25-17, 25-19, 25-18).
In the women’s category, Kada Emeralds defeated Wikki Queens 3-1 (25-12, 22-25, 25-23, 25-15).NCS beat NSCDC 3-1 (18-25, 25-21, 25-21, 25-8).
CNS Spikers dominated Life camp volleyball club ( LVC) with a 3-0 win (25-20, 25-16, 25-12), while COAS Spikers beat Benue Queens 3-0 (25-11, 25-15, 25-17).
2025 Comptroller General of Customs Volleyball Premier League final phase commenced on December 1 and end on Saturday ( December 13) at Package B of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja .
