Andoni LGA unveils “2025 Andoni Carnival’
Andoni (Rivers), Nov. 27, 2025- Andoni Local Government Area of Rivers has further demonstrated commitment to tourism development as it announced the unveiling of the ‘2025 Andoni Carnival’.
The unavailing slated for Nov. 28, 2025 would enable the council’s Chairman Hon. Lucky Otuo to highlight the theme of the carnival.
The theme tagged: ‘Rediscover Andoni 2025’ would also present an overview of the various economic potentials and untapped tourism resources domiciled in the area.
The event which kickstarts 10: am at the council’s headquarters is expected to strenghten partnerships and government collaboration towards enhancing the tourism sector.
Tourism, despite huge untapped resources currently contributes only 3.5 per cent to the nation’s GDP according to a recent assertion by President of the Federation of Tourism Association of Nigeria (FTAN) Dr Badaki Aliyu.
Aliyu had discribed tourism as a ‘Low hanging fruit’ capable of engendering economic growth, youth employment and foreign investments while also urging the government and the private investors to leverage on inherent opportunities in the sector.
Andoni LGA, blessed with huge economic potentials is set to showcase its tourism endowments with a view of attracting investors to the area.
