The Forum of 36 States Youth Council of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the expulsion of former Rivers State Governor and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, over alleged acts of disloyalty and collaboration with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a communiqué issued after an extraordinary meeting held in Abuja, the Forum said the decision followed extensive deliberations on issues affecting the unity and discipline of the party.
The group accused Wike of consistently undermining the PDP through his actions and public alignment with the APC.
“After a thorough review of his conduct, the Forum unanimously resolved that Nyesom Wike’s continuous association with the APC and his repeated acts of insubordination contravene the principles and values of the PDP,” the statement read.
The Youth Forum said its decision represents the collective will of PDP youths across the 36 states, adding that it could no longer tolerate what it described as “attempts to destabilize and discredit the party from within.”
The statement, signed by Hon. Osita Amechi of Rivers State on behalf of the PDP Youth Council, urged the National Working Committee (NWC), National Executive Committee (NEC), and the Board of Trustees (BOT) to ratify the expulsion in the interest of “justice, discipline, and the overall stability of the party.
“Our resolve is clear the PDP must remain a credible alternative to the ruling APC. To achieve this, the party must be rid of elements working as agents of distraction and destruction,” the statement added.
The Forum reaffirmed its commitment to the ideals of democracy, unity, and national service under the PDP umbrella.
