NPFL26: Boboye says things will change for good,rues missed chances as Insurance, Wolves settle for 1-1 draw ‎

‎The new Technical Manager of Bendel Insurance Football Club of Benin Kennedy Boboye has says he believes  things will change for good in his team before middle of the season as he vowed not to relent in his effort to ensure a turn around as he urges his boys to turn attention to hosting Rivers United after a 1-1 draw with Warri Wolves.

‎Coach Boboye was speaking during the post match media conference after the Benin Arsenals were forced to a 1-1 draw by their neighbours Warri Wolves in the match day eleven of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium in Benin on Saturday evening.

‎The football tactician who expressed disappointment in the inability of his boys to convert some of the several goal scoring chances they created, disclosed that he plans to visit the transfer market in the mid season transfer window.
‎He said that the team will continue to work hard and push for maximum points in their subsequent matches.

‎” We need to keep pushing because we didn’t bargain for the home draws  results we are getting. We are going to continue to push because of the situation we are. We prepared very well ahead of this match and got an early goal but we couldn’t maintain the lead. That’s the way football is sometimes.”

‎”We don’t have another set of players to do the job,so we will continue to encourage the boys and work harder. I believe strongly that things will change. No need to blame ourselves over recruitment,we will keep managing till mid season when we can do some adjustments.
‎We will go back and prepare well for Rivers United. We hope for victory in that match”. He said.

‎In the matchday eleven encounter which lived up to the hype, with Insurance FC– who were targeting a second victory after ten matches took the game to their visitors from the first whistle were rewarded early enough with Alex Oweilsyefa scoring in the 9th minute with a low drive to announce his return from injury.

‎The visitors on their part also rose to the occasion as Othuke Egbo’s sublime free kick in the 41st minute brought them back into the game before Halftime whistle.

‎It was Insurance second 1-1 draw since
‎Boboye’s  appointment on Monday, October 13,2025 following the suspension of former head coach Greg Ikhenoba.

‎Insurance striker Kayode Oke scored for the Benin Arsenals just two minutes into the match against Kun-khalifat  FC at the Dan Anyiam stadium in Owerri until the 62nd minute when Uche Moses levelled up for his side with Boboye in charge for the first time last week Sunday.

‎Bendel Insurance will be host to Rivers United in the rescheduled match day nine fixture on Thursday, November 6,2025 at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium. Kick off time is 4pm.

‎Insurance FC are in the 3rd position from the bottom of the league table with 8 points and will be looking for a second league victory when they host Rivers United in Thursday.
