Chuks Ugokwe Calls for Support, Pledges Sincere Service for Nigeria Golf Federation

The newly inaugurated member of the Nigeria Golf Federation (NGF) , Hon. Chuks Ugokwe, has appealed for support as he begins his tenure, pledging to serve with sincerity and commitment at the just concluded national sports federation elections held on October 25 in Abuja.

Ugokwe, known for his strong contributions to Basketball and Volleyball development before venturing into golf administration.

He said the opportunity to serve will be directed towards advancing the game, particularly across the five states of the South-East.

“I consider this opportunity as a challenge to help in the development of golf, especially in the South-East. To this end, I humbly ask for the gracious support of everyone on this journey, as I pledge to serve with sincerity and commitment. Please, pray for me,” he posted on one of his social media platforms.

The former Enugu State Commissioner for Information secured his place on the NGF Board following his victory at the September 27, 2025 Zonal Election held in Enugu.

To the glory of God, I was inaugurated into the Board of the Nigeria Golf Federation as a member and South-East representative,”he said.

His tenure is expected to contribute to ongoing efforts aimed at expanding the visibility and participation of golf across Nigeria.

He was subsequently inaugurated alongside other elected members of 18 sports federations on Saturday, October 25, inside the Indoor Sports Hall, Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.

The Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Malam Shehu Dikko, Director-General of the Commission, Hon. Bukola Olopade elections covered 18 sports federations, including taekwondo, hockey, deaf sports, tennis, scrabble, aquatics, shooting, golf, handball, rugby, fives, chess, wrestling, squash, traditional sports, wushu-kungfu, boxing, and karate.
