Nigeria Hockey Federation President Elected into AfHF Executive Board

The President of the Nigeria Hockey Federation (NHF), Engineer Simon O. Nkom, has been elected into the Executive Board of the African Hockey Federation (AfHF) at its 25th Ordinary Congress held at Hotel Mercure, Ismailia, Egypt.

The prestigious congress, which brought together top hockey administrators and stakeholders from across the continent, marked a new chapter in the leadership structure of African hockey.

Engr. Nkom’s election is widely regarded as a recognition of his consistent dedication and outstanding contributions to the growth and development of hockey in Nigeria and beyond. In his remarks during the election process, Nkom expressed deep appreciation for the confidence reposed in him by his peers and reaffirmed his commitment to serve selflessly in advancing the sport at the continental level.

The congress also witnessed a moment of honour for Nigeria’s Professor Ediga, who successfully completed a ten-year tenure as a member of the AfHF Executive Board.

He was specially recognized by the President of the International Hockey Federation (FIH), Mr. Tayyab Ikram, and the President of the African Hockey Federation, Mr. Seif Ahmed, for his immense contributions to the sport’s administration and development in Africa.

The Nigeria Hockey Federation extended heartfelt congratulations to both Engr. Nkom and Professor Ediga, describing their achievements as a testament to Nigeria’s growing influence in continental hockey and their unwavering dedication to nurturing the dream of sustained hockey excellence.
