The Edo State Female Cricket League is gearing up for its grand finale set to take place on Sunday, October 19, 2025.
The Edo State Cricket Association (ESCA) will be celebrating a new chapter of achievements as the president of the Cricket Federation of Nigeria ( CFN) Dr Uyi Akpata will be inaugurating a new indoors Cricket Facility in Benin City.
The Inauguration of the indoors Cricket Facility built inside the High Performance Centre, Iyoba Girls College, Ugbowo,Benin City is a part of activities linedup for the fitting end of Edo State women Cricket league.
It is a significant milestone and a giant step by the president to aimed at advancing cricket development in the region.
The highly anticipated grand finale of the League scheduled for Sunday, at the Edo Boys High School in Ugbowo, Benin City has Emotan Queens Cricket club already qualified for the finals after winning all their matches and are waiting for their opponent, who will be determined after the matches on Saturday.
The Final Matches on Saturday:
10:00 a.m ,Emotan Queens vs Ekpoma Supernova at Iyoba Girls College. 1:00 p.m ,Idia Royals CC vs Adolor Amazons at Iyoba Girls College
Meanwhile, the Deputy Governor of Edo State,H.E. Dennis Idahosa is expected as the Special Guest of Honour at the ceremony while Hon. Desmond Enabulele, the Executive Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission will be there as Guest of Honour.
The Chief Host Dr. Akpata, the Chairman of the Edo State Cricket Association and President-Elect of the Nigeria Cricket Federation (NCF) will be on ground to welcome top government officials and sports stakeholders.
The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m as the event promises to be a thrilling showcase of Edo female cricket athletes.
The Edo Cricket League (ECL), is proudly sponsored by PETS Foundation .
The league features four teams with strong historical ties to Edo State, including: Idia Royals CC, Adolor Amazons CC,Emotan Queens CC and Ekpoma Supernova CC.
Previous Matches, Emotan Queens and Adolor Amazons have been performing well, with Emotan Queens maintaining a perfect run and Adolor Amazons securing wins in their opening matches.
