..Police Tackle NAYEA, Civil Defence Face NDLEA In Last Quarter-final Pairings.
The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, have qualified for the last four of the 4th edition of Governor Abdullahi Sule Inter-Security Agencies’ Unity Cup Football Tournament, 2025.
The team defeated the Department of State Services, DSS, 4-3 via penalty shootout after regulation time ended 2-2 apiece.
Allu Samuel had put the Secret Service personnel in front in the 49th minute before Bajah Abdullahi even score at the 51st minute.
The DSS went ahead again a minute later through Seth Khalid Balotelli, before Sanusi Mohammed forced the game to be decided through spot kicks after he drew his side level with a quarter of an hour left to play.
In the spot kicks session, either side scored three of their five kicks, but it was the Road Safety personnel who converted their tiebreaker opportunity at the detriment of the intelligence gatherers, a result that positions the FRSC on the verge of defending their title.
They will face the Nigerian Air Force, NAF, who defeated ten-man Nigerian Army 2-1 also on Monday, in the Semi-Final clash on Thursday, 16th October, 2025, by 2pm, at the Lafia City Stadium.
Iwu Emmanuel scored from the spot in the 4th minute before Abiason Junior increased the tally for the NAF team. Abba Idris’s 54th minute consolation goal wasn’t enough to make any positive impact for the Nigerian Army, as their military counterparts claimed the bragging rights en route to the last four.
On Tuesday, the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, will file out against the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, in the third Quarter-final game by 2pm before the Nigerian Police Force, NPF, will slug it out versus the Nasarawa State Youth Empowerment Agency, NAYEA, by 4pm same day.
The winners in those games will face-off against each other in the second Semi-Final tie on Thursday, 16th October, 2025, by 4pm.
