Bayelsa Queens Football Club of Yenagoa has announced the signing of Chidi Harmony to strengthen the team as they prepare for the 2025/2026 Nigeria Women’s Football League Premiership (NWFL) season.
Harmony a centre forward, joins the team on loan from Imo Strikers FC was officially unveiled on Wednesday, October 8th, 2025, at the Club’s House in Yenagoa.
Previously, Chidi Harmony was part of the Nigeria U-17 team, the Flamingos, which participated in the U-17 World Cup held in the Dominican Republic in 2024.
The prolific goal poacher who was instrumental to the series of laurels won by Imo Striker Queens Fc has caught the attention of tens of thousands of soccer pundits and scouts across the globe.
At the tender age of 15, Harmony emerged as the highest goal scorer in the 2024 FIFA U-17 World Cup Qualifiers in the continent.
She scored 12 goals, including two hat-tricks, becoming the top scorer across all six confederations.
Harmony registered at least one goal in every game, proving her consistency and importance to the team.
Her addition to the restoration girls will no doubt boost the chances of the current NWFL Premiership champions of retaining the league title.
During the unveiling event at the Samson Siasia Stadium on Wednesday, Pastor Robin Angonimi Apreala, Chairman of Bayelsa Queens FC, expressed confidence that Harmony’s arrival will enhance the team’s chances of securing a continental ticket.
“We have decided to recruit new players who have the potential to help us achieve our goals. With the quality of our players and the support from the Bayelsa State Government and various stakeholders, we believe we can meet our targets,” Pastor Apreala stated.
He also conveyed gratitude to Governor Douye Diri for his unwavering support, emphasising that the team’s achievements would not have been possible without the Governor’s dedication and backing.
The Chairman praised the Deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, and the Commissioner for Sports Development, Dr Baraladei Daniel Igali (OLY), along with other stakeholders, for their various contributions to the team’s success and management.

What a stunning addition! Chidi Harmony is the kind of star power Bayelsa Queens needed to make sure they stay on top, although retaining the title might feel like trying to keep a toddler from eating cookies. Those U-17 stats are mind-blowing – 12 goals, multiple hat-tricks at just 15? She’s got the talent to light up the NWFL, perhaps even scoring more often than the Samson Siasia Stadium lights flicker! Pastor Apreala’s confident talk of a continental ticket is exciting, though securing that might require more than just Harmony’s boots – maybe a few lucky penalties? Still, it’s great to see Bayelsa investing in such raw skill, and kudos to the Governor and stakeholders for backing this star player. Bring on the 2025/2026 season – it’s shaping up to be a goal-filled ride!vòng quay random
