…,Says stakeholders maintain full confidence in the Sports Commission
The Gymnastics Community across Nigeria has been following closely the developments around our Federation’s leadership election.
After the National Sports Commission (NSC) flawed the exclusionary process that denied four constituencies their voting rights and called for a smooth and transparent election on October 18, 2025, it has come to our notice that some individuals are keen to mount pressure on the Sports Commission so that the right things are not done.
This creates serious confusion and uncertainty and risks undermining trust in the process. The NSC’s decision to uphold fairness and ensure an inclusive election gave hope to Athletes, Coaches, and administrators committed to the growth of Gymnastics.
We urge the NSC to stand firm because they have been on the path of justice and fairness and their bold decisions in times like this will set a new precedent that will positively change the trajectory of Federation elections forever in Nigeria.
There must be no reversal of the October 18, 2025 Gymnastics Election. Any attempt to change this course would call into question the credibility of the Electoral process and further disenfranchise legitimate stakeholders.
We further call on the National Sports Commission to provide clarity, and ensure the principles of transparency and equity are fully respected. Nigerian gymnastics deserves a credible and widely accepted leadership transition.
