The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Chapter, has signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Digital Mirroring Concept (DMC), establishing a strategic partnership aimed at enhancing sports coverage and visibility through digital platforms.

The signing ceremony took place at the DMC headquarters, Efab Mall, Area 11, Abuja, with the MoU running for an initial period of one year and is renewable upon mutual consent.

In a statement on Tuesday, Chairman of SWAN FCT, Mr. Kelechi Onwudiwe, described the agreement as a bold step in advancing sports journalism in the capital city.

“This MoU reflects our commitment to innovation and growth. By partnering with DMC, we are ensuring that the voices of athletes, coaches, and administrators are amplified on digital platforms in real time. It is a milestone that will reshape the way sports stories are told in the FCT,” he said.

Onwudiwe also expressed appreciation to the association’s patron, Chief Dr. Barr. Paul Edeh, for his consistent support, particularly in subsidizing production costs.

“We sincerely thank our patron, Chief Dr. Barr. Paul Edeh, whose guidance and backing continue to strengthen SWAN FCT. His contribution to sports and media development inspires us to pursue excellence,” he added.

Speaking on behalf of DMC, Mr. Gideon Jesse pledged the company’s dedication to professionalism and innovative content delivery.

“We are proud to serve as SWAN FCT’s official digital media partner. This is not just about streaming or coverage, but about creating a strong digital footprint for sports in the FCT and beyond,” he said.

Under the terms of the partnership, SWAN FCT will grant DMC access to sports events, press conferences, and related activities, while also recognizing the outfit as an official media partner in its promotional materials.

In return, DMC will provide extensive media coverage of SWAN FCT’s activities, including publishing digital content, conducting special interviews, and handling live streaming of events.

DMC will also serve as the official media production partner for the FCT SWAN TV brand, strengthening the association’s digital presence.

The collaboration is expected to elevate the standard of sports reportage in the FCT, while setting a benchmark for media partnerships between professional sports associations and digital content providers nationwide.

SWAN FCT leadership was represented by its Secretary, Mr. Samuel Ahmadu, and Financial Secretary, Mr. Niyi Busari, while DMC was represented by Mr. Gideon Jesse.
