Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) champions Remo Stars have confirmed a temporary shift in their home ground due to ongoing renovations at their stadium in ikenne.
The MKO Abiola Sports Arena in Kuto, Abeokuta, will serve as their temporary home ground until the renovations are complete.
Remo Stars will host last season’s runners-up Rivers United in their first game of the season on Friday, August 22, 2025.
They will also face newly-promoted side Kun-Khalifat in Owerri before returning home to face Warri Wolves.
The team’s CAF Champions League preliminary round match against Comoros side US Zilimadjou is scheduled for between September 19 and 21.
The club is rallying fans to turn out in full force at the new temporary ground, with the message: “Come through, make some noise, and let’s turn Abeokuta into a fortress together!” Remo Stars reassured supporters that a return to their Ikenne home is imminent once renovations are complete.
It’s worth noting that Remo Stars will face US Zilimadjou of Comoros in the first preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.
The team is seeking CAF’s approval to host their Champions League home games at the Remo Stars Stadium Ikenne .
