A “plot” to derail sports development can manifest in various forms, including negative campaigns, blackmail, media trials and unnecessary interference. These factors can hinder the growth of sports at all levels, from grassroots to professional, and ultimately undermine the positive impact sports can have on individuals and communities.

Chief Bukola Olapade the Director General of the National Sports Commission (NSC) is fast becoming the target for naysayers after numerous attempts to truncate all his efforts in taking the nation’s sports to the next level failed.

The former sports consultant and marketing guru and now DG of National Sports Commission has vowed never to submit to cheap blackmail being peddled by angry lobbyists who have lost their relevance in the scheme of things.

Chief Olapade whose impeccable leadership of the NSC alongside the indefatigable chairman of the commission, Mallam Shehu Dikko has re-ignite fairness and accountability in the sports sector.

For those alarmists spreading false narratives about the financial accountability of the NSC, it is obvious that they were unaware of the due process enshrined in the policy of sports commission.

Olapade is not the type that could be found wanting when it comes to financial dealings as he has done businesses with multi national companies before being appointed as the DG of the NSC.

A man with proven financial records can not be stained by filthy lies thrown by unscrupulous fellows.

It is appalling to see some broadcast platforms glorifying some lousy people by giving them a platform to defame the image of Chief Olapade and that of Mallam Shehu Dikko.

The DG of the NSC has not and has never been under investigation by any government agency, a man with clean records and clear conscience can never be a victim of any media trial.

For those trying too hard to create unpleasant moments within the sports community, the eye of the law is watching and justice would be served.
