Nimrod Musa, President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation,on Thursday has expressed satisfaction with the recently concluded tournament (2025 CAVB Beach Volleyball Continental Championship ) in Abuja at Jabi Lake, describing it as a huge success.
Musa highlighted the high standard of organization, which met international expectations.
The President revealed that the Confederation of African Volleyball (CAVB) was pleased with the tournament, praising its organization and execution.
“ As far as I am concerned, and the CAVB is concerned, the rating is very high,” Musa stated.
In spite financial constraints, the tournament’s organizers successfully managed the event, ensuring its smooth execution.
Musa appreciated the efforts of all involved, saying, “We were able to sort all that out, and I am happy that it has come to an end.”
The Nigerian teams are set to participate in several upcoming events, including:
The teams will proceed directly to camp in preparation for this event, which is crucial for the Olympic Youth Games in Senegal.
The Under-18 World Championship in Doha, the young Nigerian team will compete in this prestigious tournament.
The senior team will also participate in the World Championship in Australia. and the Zone 3 Senior Championship in Abidjan, The team will compete in this championship in August and September.
Musa emphasized the importance of these events, saying, “So we are pleased that they were really occupied, and they will also be going for the Zone 3 Senior Championship in Abidjan, still in August and September, so no rest.”
With a packed schedule ahead, the Nigerian volleyball teams are gearing up for a busy and challenging period.
The high-level competition among 12 participating nations, the 2025 CAVB Beach Volleyball Continental Championship concluded on Thursday in Abuja, with Nigeria putting up an impressive showing.
The Gambia emerged champions in the men’s category, followed by Congo, while Nigeria secured third and fourth positions. In the women’s category, Nigeria dominated, finishing both first and second positions.

Nigeria I beat Nigeria II 2-0 (21-17, 21-17) in the Girl’s category
Gambia beat DR Congo 2-0 (21-19, 21-13) in the final to win the boy’s category
Third place Boys- Nigeria I v Nigeria III (2-0)1st set: 23-21,2nd set: 21-17
Third place Girls- Dr Congo v Egypt I (2-1)1st set: 20-22,2nd set: 21-16 and 3rd set: 15-7.
