Nasarawa Amazons Football Club of Lafia dominated Sunshine Queens Football Club of Akure 4-0 in their quarterfinal match played at the Awka Township Stadium, Anambra State yesterday.
The visitors started strong, with Bello Amina Omowumi scoring the first goal just 17th minute into the encounter.
The Owena Mermaids defense was breached, and the Rock of Amazons’ defensive line held strong, preventing any chances for the home team.
The first half ended 1-0 in favor of the Lafialandladies, In the second half, Coach Christopher Danjuma made some strategic changes, introducing Ayatsea Hembafan, Odoh Abdulwahab, and Omosuyi.
These changes paid off, as Ayatsea added another goal in the 75th minute. Odoh Bibiana followed suit, scoring with a header from an Ayatsea pull-out, making it 3-0 for the visitors.
The Amazons continued to dominate and pressing harder on their opponent with the first minute of extra time, Ayatsea scored again with a super conversion, making it 4-0.
With this win, Nasarawa Amazons FC is set to lockhorns with rivals Edo Queens in the President Federation Cup semi-finals Semi-Finals, as the Team will be heading to Ikenne, Ogun State to start their fight for the 2024-2025 Nigeria Women Football Premiership League title in the Super Six tournament.
