The Nigeria Tennis Federation (NTF) is currently hosting an International Tennis Federation (ITF) Level 1 coaching course for over 30 participants in Abuja.
The comprehensive training program, which started on April 14 and is expected to end on April 23, aims to equip tennis coaches with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles.
According to the NTF Secretary-General, Shammah Makpa, the course is being delivered by renowned ITF-certified instructor Rototi Akinloye at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium Tennis Courts, Package B.
Makpa stated that the NTF has remained committed to providing opportunities for coaches to upgrade their capacity and skills to meet the demands of modern tennis.
The objectives of the Course,ITF Level 1 coaching course aims to:Enhance coaching skills and knowledge,Develop competent tennis coaches,Promote tennis development in Nigeria.
Also , Align with the National Sports Commission’s (NSC) vision for sustainable sports development.
Makpa highlighted that the course is expected to lead to:Improved coaching standards,
Enhanced tennis performance,Increased participation in tennis and Contribution to Nigeria’s sports development
