Kenya Pipeline company Volleyball Club ( KPC) of Kenya comfortably register victory in their opening match against Police Volleyball Club ( PVC) of Rwanda in a 3-1 (25-10, 25-19, 21-25, 25-18) in Pool D.
KPC started off winning 8-3, before PVC started engaging with points .
A few spikes and volleying the ball to gaps at the back of the court won PVC more points, however KPC were comfortably in controlled and won the set 25-10.
A run of points brought PVC back into the set, but the KPC lead was too much and in the end as they succumbed to 19-25.
In a repeat pattern of the earlier sets, KPC established an early lead 9-3 and then extended it significantly. PVC came back late in the set with a number of points and took the third set 25-21.
Both team drag the points in the fourth set. KPC want to win, PVC fighting to force to deciding set, it was KPC that ran way with the game with a 25-18.
Others matches saw Litto Team Volleyball (LTV) of Cameroon beat 25- 18, 25-14,25-22 Club Omnisports Descartes ( COD) of Côte d’Ivoire in pool D.
Chief of Naval Staff (CNS ) Spikers defeated Spiking Stars Volleyball (SSV) of Botswana 3-0 ( 25-22,25-21,25-8) in pool B.
In Gymnasium hall,Zamalek Sporting Club (ZMK) of Egypt ( defending champions) outshine Kenya Prisons Volleyball Club (PRI) of Kenya 3-0 ( 25-23 25-17,25-23) in pool B
VolleyballClub La LOI ( VLL) of Democratic Republic of Congo at main indoor hall of volleyball vs Kenya Commercial Bank Volleyball Club (KCB) of Kenya in pool C (16-25,18-25, 12-25 )
The Pool D consists, Litto Team Volleyball (LTV) of Cameroon ,Kenya Pipeline Company Volleyball Club (KPC) of Kenya, Police Volleyball Club (PVC) of Rwanda and Club Ominisports Descartes of Cote d’Ivoire .
Sixteen teams are participating in the championship which began on April 1 to 14 at the Moshood Abiola National stadium Abuja.
