First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu To Declare Open 2025 Women’s African Volleyball Club Championship

First Lady will be present at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, to officially declare the tournament open.

Today, Thursday, April 4, 2025, marks the official opening of the highly anticipated 2025 Women’s African Volleyball Club Championship (AWVCC25) in Abuja.

The First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, will declare the tournament open, signaling the start of a thrilling competition that will feature 16 top clubs from across the continent.

Which includes: Nigeria Custom service ( NCS), Mayo Kani Evolution (MKE), alongside Armee Patriotique Rwandaise Volleyball Club (APR) and Club Femini De Carthage (CFC)  in pool A.

Pool B:Zamalek Sporting Club ( ZMK) of Egpyt, Kenya Prisons Volleyball Club (PRI) of Kenya, Chief of Naval staff( CNS), and Spiking Stars Volleyball (SSV) of Botswana

Pool C: Al Ahly Sporting club ( AHL) of Egpyt, Kenya Commercial Bank Volleyball Club (KCB) of Kenya,

VolleyballClub La LOI ( VLL) of Democratic Republic of Congo  and Sococim(SOC) of Senegal .

Others are in Pool D  ,Litto Team Volleyball (LTV) of Cameroon ,Kenya Pipeline Company Volleyball Club (KPC) of Kenya, Police Volleyball Club (PVC) of Rwanda and Club Ominisports Descartes of Cote d’Ivoire .

As the Grand Patron of the championship, Senator Tinubu’s presence at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium is expected to add excitement to the event.

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) had earlier announced her role as the Grand Patron in the tournament, which is being hosted by the Nigeria Volleyball Federation and the NCS.

Preparations for the championship have reached their final stage, with a technical meeting held on Wednesday night to reaffirm the organizers’ readiness for a successful tournament.

The championship will run from April 1 to 14 at the multipurpose sports hall of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium.

Hosted by the Nigeria Volleyball Federation and the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), the championship will run from April 1st to April 14th at the multipurpose sports hall of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium.

The event promises to be a showcase of top-tier volleyball talent from across the continent.

Sports Secretary Nigeria Customs Samuel Onikeku at the Technical Meeting on Wednesday said that First Lady  will be at stadium to declared the event open.

As 14 Volleyball academies will be on ground to watch the teams.
