The National President of the Women Fellowship, Deaconess Maria Onyaidu Aba, made this call during the Women’s and Young Women’s Fellowship Week Celebration, held from March 24 to March 30.

A weeklong programme that features drama, Bible quiz, Women Choir ministration among others is part of activities to mark 2025 World Mother’s Day Celebration hosted by Mararaba Circuit Women Fellowship at All Saints Methodist Church Mararaba.

In her goodwill message presented by Mrs Esther Akogwu, Aba expressed gratitude to God for the opportunity to celebrate in spite of the challenges of insecurity and economic hardship in the country.

Aba emphasised faith, unity, and resilience as key factors for Nigeria to rise again from the challenges faced by the country.

“We give glory to God Almighty for granting us the privilege to celebrate this year’s fellowship week.

“Looking at the current situation raging from rising inflation, insecurity, and economic struggles—one might think celebrations are impossible. However, God’s love and grace have made it possible,” Aba said.

Speaking on revival and restoration of the nation, Aba reflected on the the theme, “He Will Rise Again” (John 11:23), emphasised the need for believers to trust in God’s power to bring about a turnaround, drawing lessons from the story of Lazarus’ resurrection in the Bible.

She outlined key steps necessary for Nigeria and individuals to experience revival to include concern for others as Jesus showed deep concern for Lazarus, demonstrating the importance of compassion in national and personal restoration.

Just as the stone was rolled away from Lazarus’ grave, Aba urged Nigerians to eliminate barriers such as corruption, injustice, and moral decline.

She emphasised the need for Nigeria as a nation and individual reliance on God as Jesus looked up to heaven before performing the miracle for Lazarus’ resurrection from death.

She also identified other key areas requiring urgent revival for Nigeria’s resurgence to include; thanksgiving, prayers, showing love and care for others and relying on the words of God.

On Economic restoration of the Nigeria, the women fellowship president expressed hope that just as Lazarus was raised, Nigeria’s economy could be revived with faith and collective effort.
