The Nigeria Shooting Federation is working day and night towards making 2025 a better year for its athletes and officials.
President of the federation Navy Captain Bamidele Olatunji Ayoade made the assertion during it’s board meeting that took place at the Velodrome of Package A of the Moshood Abiola Stadium Abuja.
According Captain Ayoade, the Federation will do all within its power to make shooting a more popular and competitive sport in Nigeria.
“We just had our board meeting where we discussed our annual plans, and we also discussed funding and grassroot development. We are strategizing for a better 2025”.
“We are also working on our efforts towards Olympic qualifiers, training of our athletes, coaches and juries”.
“We will try our best to make the sport more competitive and popular, some of the issues with shooting is the use of weapons, we are talking with the appropriate authorities to accept shooting as a sport and the use of arms in it to be seen as recreative and not for any other negative use”.
The President of NSF also said better days are ahead as series of events have been lined up for its athletes.
“As a federation we have lined up a couple of events for our athletes.We have Late Felix Ogba National Open Championship, the ISF World Cup for the Riffle and Pistol. We have the World Championship and many others, so I can tell you that better days are ahead”.
The board meeting which took place at the Velodrome of Package A of the Moshood Abiola Stadium Abuja, was attended by all the board members led by its president Navy Captain Bamidele Olatunji Ayoade and also the Secretary General of the federation Mrs. Oyindolapo Tinuoso.
