… say idea adding colours to Kwara United home matches
One of the notable achievements of Mallam Idris Abdullahi Musa, also known as Thuraya, is the introduction of children football mascot to all Kwara United home matches.
This innovative idea, which has become a stable in Kwara United’s home games, showcases the chairman’s love for children. Bringing the children together was no easy feat, but the cordial relationship between the Football Association and the parents made it possible. Where the children will first report at the Alhaji Usman Mustapha Football House (Kwara Football Association Office) at 2:30pm every Kwara United FC home games, from the Football House the children will be transported to the Rashidi Yekini Main Bowl and fed with snacks and soft drinks before the match.
This concept, which began in the 2023/2024 season, features the children dressed in branded jerseys of Kwara State colours of Green and Yellow, made by Owu Company, a unique touch that sets Kwara United apart in the NPFL.
Top football stakeholders have praised Idris Abdullahi Musa’s innovative approach, which creates an enabling environment for children to thrive and add colours to the NPFL matches in Ilorin.
All players of the teams playing Kwara United FC at their home ground at Rashidi Yekini Main Bowl, are full of praises to the Kwara State Football Association on this Children Mascot. Some of the players of both the opposing teams and Kwara United do snapped photographs with the children as a way showing affection to the children.
This type of innovative should be encouraged and copied by other State Football Associations to encourage more fans to our stadia.
Thanks once again to the Chairman and Board members of Kwara State Football Association, hopefully this kind idea will be sustained.
