Dare Adesomo, Coach of Kicker Football Club, a Division 2 side in Abuja has commended his players for their impressive performance, in spite suffering a 4-0 defeat at the hands of the Flying Eagles.
The coach’s praise reflects the team’s positive attitude and commitment to improving their game.
Despite the loss, Kickers FC is poised to learn from the experience and come back stronger in their next meeting .
Adesomo said playing against the Flying Eagles this isn’t our first meeting , as they often get the chance to test their players abilities when the Flying Eagles are in camp in Abuja .
“ Today’s friendly match was a crucial step in the preparation to assess Kicker FC strengths and weaknesses.
“ The match has provided valuable experience for the players and also helped us to identify areas for improvement.
“ Particularly with the eight new set of players who have joined , in spite some having fitness levels that are not up to par.
“ We are focus on developing players’ skills and building a strong team dynamic.
Adesomo emphasized that the focus isn’t solely on winning, but rather on exposing this players to the realities of the sport and encouraging them to take their careers seriously.
“ My goal is to prepare the team for the challenges ahead and to continue playing friendly matches to assess their strengths and weaknesses of this players.,” he said.
He emphasized the significant role the media plays in their success, stating that their achievements are largely due to the media’s publicity efforts.
Our next match is against Assess FC on February 27 by 7a.m at the FIFA Goal Project of Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.
The Division 2 League is set to begin in May 2025 at the Area 3 playing ground.
Flying Eagles team is currently in camp preparing for the 2025 Under 20 AFCON, which will be held in Cote d’Ivoire from April 26 to May 18.
They are in Group B alongside Egypt, Morocco, and South Africa.The top four teams from the tournament will qualify for the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile in September.
