Earl Osaro Onaiwu, the former Director-General of the Nigeria Governors Forum, has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s vision for establishing the South East Development Commission (SEDC).
Onaiwu commended President Tinubu for addressing the development needs of the South East region, tackling long-standing challenges such as erosion, insecurity, and educational decline since the end of the civil war.
The SEDC aims to bridge the development gap in the region by coordinating development projects, promoting investments, and prioritizing critical infrastructure development, including roads, bridges, and water resources.
Onaiwu urged the Governors of the South East to work closely with the President’s agenda for SEDC to achieve its purpose, emphasizing the importance of collaboration with local communities and stakeholders.
This development is a significant step towards promoting economic growth, improving living standards, and enhancing the overall well-being of the people in the region.
President Tinubu has also reconstituted the board of the SEDC, introducing a new chairman and executive directors to ensure effective leadership and development in the South East region .
