The management of Zamfara United Football Club has issued a statement announcing that one of its players, Idris Ajiya, has abandoned the team camp without notice.
This statement is signed by Hashimu Yusuf, Secretary of Zamfara United Football Club, on Wednesday in Zamfara.
According to the statement, Idris Ajiya, who holds license number 24/25..006 and wears jersey number 19, left the team camp on Monday, January 20th, 2025, without informing the management or his teammates.
The club has expressed concern over Ajiya’s disappearance and has called on all football teams to be aware that any attempt to register him without proper clearance from Zamfara United FC may result in penalties.
“We are worried about Idris’ safety and well-being, and we urge him to return to the team camp immediately,” said Hashimu Yusuf, Secretary of Zamfara United Football Club.
The club has also stated that it is willing to release Ajiya to any interested team in an orderly and professional manner, provided the necessary clearance procedures are followed.
The disappearance of Idris Ajiya has raised concerns about player welfare and the need for clubs to maintain open communication channels with their players.
As the search for Ajiya continues, Zamfara United FC has appealed to anyone with information about his whereabouts to come forward.
The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) has also been notified of the situation, and an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding Ajiya’s disappearance.
