The Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution (IPCR) and the FCT Football Coaches Association have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Monday to build and promote peace through football.
According to the Director General of IPCR, Dr. Joseph Ochogwu, the MoU, aimed at promoting a better society, will facilitate peace building and promotion.
Dr. Ochogwu noted that football has a unique ability to bring people together, transcend cultural and ethnic boundaries, and promote a sense of community and shared identity.
The Chairman of FCT Football Coaches Association, Mr. Bartholomew David, who led his members to the Institute, appreciated IPCR for the partnership, noting that football is a strong tool that has the potential to promote peace across board.
This collaborative approach has been made possible after series of high level formal discussions which took place in the last three months.
