The 2024 Comptroller General of Customs Volleyball Premier League came to a thrilling conclusion in Abuja, with the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) and the Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) emerging as champions in the women’s and men’s categories, respectively.
In the women’s category, Nigeria Customs Service secured the top spot with a total of 63 points, dominating the competition. CNS Spikers followed closely, finishing second with 59 points, while the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) claimed third place with 58 points.
The competition was fierce, with COAS Spikers taking fourth place with 45 points and the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Rockets finishing fifth with 41 points.
Other teams in the women’s category included LifeCamp, who finished sixth with 29 points, and Benue Queens, who tied with LifeCamp but ranked seventh on a tiebreaker.
Kada Emeralds placed eighth with 25 points, while Olalomi Royal VC secured ninth place with 15 points, and Anambra Queens completed the top ten with 14 points.
At the bottom of the standings, Nigeria Immigration Service and Kwara United VC faced relegation after finishing in the 11th and 12th positions, respectively.
The men’s competition saw a similar level of excitement and competitiveness, with CNS Spikers clinching the championship with 56 points, narrowly edging out the previous champions, Offa VC, who finished second with 53 points. Kada VC secured third place with 44 points.
The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) finished in fourth with 43 points, while the COAS Spikers ended their campaign in fifth place with 42 points. Nigeria Customs Service rounded out the top six in the men’s category with 37 points.
Sunshine Spikers and the Nigeria Correctional Service each scored 35 points, placing seventh and eighth, respectively. Kano Pillars finished ninth with 19 points, while NSCDC ended in tenth place with 18 points.
In the men’s category, the Nigeria Immigration Service and Spartan Spikers were relegated to lower divisions after finishing 11th and 12th, respectively.
