Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, the General Secretary of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), has stressed the importance of integrity in sports.
Speaking at the maiden symposium of the Sport Integrity Group in Abuja, Sanusi emphasized that ethics and integrity are crucial for the growth and development of sports in Nigeria.
Sanusi, who delivered the keynote address, thanked the organizers for the opportunity to share his thoughts on the importance of integrity in sports.
He noted that the return of the National Sports Commission has provided direction for all sports in Nigeria, and that the symposium was a step in the right direction.
As a sports administrator with experience in various roles, including National Vice President of the National Association of Physical and Health Education, Recreation, Sports and Dance (NAPHER), Sanusi emphasized the need for a structured approach to sports development.
He also highlighted the issue of match fixing and manipulation, which he described as a major obstacle to the progress of sports in Nigeria and globally.
Sanusi’s commitment to sports development and integrity was recognized by the organizers of the symposium, who presented him with an award for his support and mentorship of athletes in Nigeria.
This award is a testament to Sanusi’s dedication to promoting sports development and integrity in Nigeria.
