The Nigeria Customs Service and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) have kicked off their title hunt in the women’s category at the final phase of the Comptroller General of Customs (CGC) Volleyball Premier League in Abuja.
In the women’s matches played at the Moshood Abiola Stadium’s indoor sports hall on Tuesday, Nigeria Customs Service defeated LifeCamp VC 3-0, with set scores of 25-12, 25-16, and 25-17. NSCDC, meanwhile, triumphed over COAS Spikers 3-1, winning 25-20, 25-23, 17-25, and 25-16.
In other women’s encounters, NAF Rockets VC dominated Kada Emeralds 3-0 (25-11, 25-22, 25-23), while the experienced Nigeria Immigration Service defeated Benue Queens 3-1 (25-14, 20-25, 26-24, 25-22). Olalomi Royal VC pulled off a remarkable comeback, coming from two sets down to beat Anambra Queens 3-2 (20-25, 17-25, 25-17, 25-15, 15-12).
In the men’s category, Offa VC narrowly survived Kano Pillars in an epic five-set match, winning 3-2 (23-25, 25-20, 21-25, 27-25, 15-7). Nigeria Correctional Service outclassed Nigeria Immigration Service 3-2 (21-25, 25-13, 16-25, 25-22, 15-12), while Kada Kings pummeled Spartans Spikers 3-0 (25-21, 25-14, 29-27).
In the men’s star match of the day, Nigeria Customs Service fought hard to overcome the Nigeria Police Force 3-2 (20-25, 25-17, 17-25, 25-22, 18-16). COAS Spikers breezed past NSCDC 3-0 (25-19, 25-20, 25-13), while CNS Spikers defeated Sunshine Spikers 3-0 (25-21, 25-15, 25-21) in the final match of the day.
With the competition heating up, the battle for the CGC Volleyball Premier League title promises to deliver even more thrilling action in the coming days.
